When Heather started cancer treatment this spring/summer, she decided she wanted to do something positive to support cancer patients in Newfoundland and Labrador. 

We've formed a team - Heather's Hurricanes - to participate in the Polka Dot Trot on Sunday, September 28. It's the signature event to raise funds for the Cancer Care Foundation to support cancer patients and their families in Newfoundland & Labrador. We especially love that 100% of the money raised stay here in NL!

Why Heather's Hurricanes?

A hurricane is a powerful force, not unlike Heather herself when she sets her mind on a goal! 

Hurricanes strengthen resilience and unity. Heather's hurricane isn't her cancer, it's the family and friends who join her as she tackles treatment, and finds ways to safely enjoy the best of life along the way. She's missed a few gatherings lately, but you'll still find her on the pond, on hiking/biking trails, packing up the motorhome, on the sideline cheering on the grandkids, or sharing a meal and a laugh with family and friends.

We have chosen the t-shirt colour lime green, which represents lymphoma. However, team members can choose any colour to represent any (or all) cancers. There are many people near and dear to all our hearts who have battled different types of cancer!
