Welcome to My Personal Page

A year ago, I had a biopsy which would serve to confirm an unwelcomed cancer diagnosis - making me one of approximately 4000 Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to receive such news every single year.
4000 new cancer diagnoses. 4000 patients. 4000 affected families. Every year.
Cancer is far reaching. It rocks many worlds. It does not discriminate.
With only a few treatments left (and plans to ring the bell in November, God willing!) - today, I am one of the lucky ones.
I am humbled with gratitude every day and am acutely aware of the magnitude of support I have been privileged to receive in order to be here.
During the past year, I have spent considerable time at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre in St. John’s.
I have been buoyed by the compassionate, superior care of the cancer care team, benefitted from the leading edge cancer equipment, and been comforted by the beautiful surroundings of the new chemotherapy unit while receiving treatment.
I can readily attest to the impeccable care one receives while navigating such a challenge.
That is why this year, I have chosen to participate in the Polka Dot Trot – a fundraiser for the Cancer Care Foundation that raises money for cancer care throughout our province.
Thank you.
A million times over.
Janice
